Course and Professor Evaluations (CAPE):
CAPE is an entirely student run organization that administers a standardized evaluation of UCSD’s courses and professors. Faculty members are invited each quarter to have their courses and teaching evaluated by their students and most faculty participate. The CAPE office maintains an up to date comprehensive database of all CAPE statistics on the CAPE website that are available for students, faculty and staff.          Student feedback gauges the caliber of both the University’s curriculum and its faculty. CAPE provides students with the opinions of their peers on any particular course or professor. This information is also important to professors trying to improve their course or teaching.
CAPE consists of three part-time student employees (Director and two Assistant Directors) and approximately 45 student employees who facilitate the CAPEing process in the classroom. The office is closed during Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks in addition to all University holidays.
